Tongyu Powers Global Connectivity with Next-Gen Satellite Solutions at SATEXPO 2025

ZHONGSHAN, China: At the 2025 SATEXPO, a premier global exhibition dedicated to satellite technology, Tongyu Communication Inc., a leading innovator in wireless communications, unveiled a comprehensive suite of integrated satellite communication solutions designed to expand global connectivity and support diverse industries. The company’s showcase highlighted its advanced ground station terminals, onboard satellite payload antennas, mobile communication terminals, and satellite IoT antennas, all engineered to provide wide coverage, high capacity, and cost-effective satellite networks.

Tongyu’s participation at SATEXPO underscores its commitment to bridging the global digital divide by leveraging satellite technology integrated with next-generation 5G and emerging 6G networks. Winnie Wu, Vice President of Tongyu Communication, highlighted the strategic importance of this integration, stating, “As the global digital transformation accelerates, satellite communication has become a crucial technology for bridging the digital divide. Our integrated solutions not only meet traditional satellite communication needs but also provide robust support for emerging fields such as smart IoT and the low-altitude economy through deep integration with 5G and 6G networks”.

At the exhibition, Tongyu presented a versatile product lineup tailored to meet the needs of various sectors including emergency response, maritime and fisheries, smart agriculture, and intelligent transportation. Key products included:

Ground Station Terminals: Featuring antennas and terminals for both high-altitude geostationary (GEO) and low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites, these terminals have already been mass-delivered in numerous national projects globally, enabling reliable ground-to-space communication.

Onboard Payload Antennas: Essential for satellite, spacecraft, and space station operations, Tongyu’s synthetic aperture radar (SAR) antennas have successfully completed telemetry missions on high-altitude drones, demonstrating their advanced capabilities in spaceborne applications.

On-The-Move Antennas: Designed for mobile satellite communication, these antennas serve maritime vessels, airborne platforms, and emergency responders, effectively eliminating traditional network blind spots and ensuring continuous connectivity in challenging environments.

Satellite IoT Antennas: Deployed across various satellite IoT constellations, these antennas facilitate the expansion of IoT applications into remote and hard-to-reach areas, supporting the growing demand for connected devices worldwide.

In addition to its satellite communication portfolio, Tongyu showcased its groundbreaking MacroWiFi technology, a revolutionary solution for extended-range wireless networking. MacroWiFi leverages high-gain antenna arrays and long-range transmission protocols to deliver WiFi coverage spanning 1.5 to 2 kilometers with a wide 180° angle, supporting up to 200 concurrent users. This makes it an ideal solution for remote areas, large farms, mining sites, and outdoor wireless deployments where traditional cellular networks are inadequate.

Winnie Wu described MacroWiFi as “not just a technological upgrade; it is a revolution in wireless networking. With its exceptional performance and innovative features, MacroWiFi will bring unprecedented changes to our lives and work.” The technology’s cloud-managed platform enables centralized control and precise billing, enhancing operational efficiency and user experience in large-scale outdoor environments.

Tongyu Communication’s global footprint continues to expand, with overseas revenue reaching approximately 60.5 million USD in 2024—a 20.27% increase year-on-year. This growth is driven by strong demand in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Belt and Road countries. Through its presence at SATEXPO, Tongyu aims to deepen collaborations with telecom operators and satellite service providers worldwide, accelerating the deployment of satellite communication terminals and ground station equipment on a large scale.

Looking ahead, Tongyu plans to invest heavily in satellite communication technology development, including a 180 million yuan investment in 2025 to establish a holding subsidiary focused on advancing satellite ground terminal beam adaptive communication antenna technology, a critical component for 6G integration.

Founded in 1996, Tongyu Communication Inc. specializes in the research, development, manufacturing, and sales of mobile communication antennas, radio frequency devices, and satellite communication solutions. With production facilities in China and subsidiaries across Europe and other global locations, Tongyu has established a robust international presence. The company is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of wireless and satellite communication technology, playing a pivotal role in the evolution toward seamless global connectivity.

The integration of satellite networks with 5G and 6G technologies is set to revolutionize global communications by enabling direct-to-device connectivity, eliminating coverage blind spots, and providing high-throughput services even in the most isolated regions. Tongyu’s innovations in antenna design, satellite payloads, and mobile terminals position it at the forefront of this transformation, supporting applications ranging from emergency response to smart agriculture and beyond.
