SatSure and Dhruva Space Tie Up for End-to-End Earth Observation-as-a-Service Solutions

Bengaluru: In a significant development for India’s space technology sector, Bengaluru-based SatSure and Hyderabad-headquartered Dhruva Space have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly offer fully-managed Earth Observation-as-a-Service (EOaaS) solutions. This strategic partnership aims to integrate their complementary capabilities across the entire space value chain — from satellite payload development and launch services to ground station infrastructure and advanced data analytics — to provide a seamless, indigenous EO platform for both commercial and strategic users.

The collaboration combines SatSure’s expertise in Earth Observation analytics, powered by its wholly-owned subsidiary KaleidEO’s cutting-edge sub-meter optical and multi-spectral payloads, with Dhruva Space’s proven strengths in small satellite platforms, system integration, launch services, and ground station infrastructure. Together, they aim to create a “one-stop-shop” for end-to-end EO solutions, addressing the growing global demand for fast, reliable, and high-quality satellite data.

Prateep Basu, Founder and CEO of SatSure, said, “We are very excited to be joining forces with Dhruva Space, which will enable us both to harness the best of Indian ingenuity and technological prowess. This partnership is poised to boost our sovereign EO capabilities and create a complete package for end customers who need both high-quality data and end-to-end solutions.”

Sanjay Nekkanti, Founder and CEO of Dhruva Space, added, “This collaboration marks a significant step in building a vertically integrated, sovereign space ecosystem – one that bridges satellite platform development with actionable intelligence. By leveraging Dhruva Space’s end-to-end capabilities alongside KaleidEO’s advanced payloads and analytics, we will optimize mission timelines and deliver critical insights across vital sectors.”

KaleidEO has recently qualified its next-generation optical and multi-spectral Earth Observation payloads, capable of delivering sub-meter resolution imagery with a swath coverage of up to 65 km — a breakthrough in combining high resolution with wide area coverage. This capability allows capturing large urban areas, such as the entire city of Bengaluru, in a single satellite pass, overcoming industry challenges where resolution and coverage are typically inversely proportional.

The payload’s ability to provide analysis-ready data supports diverse applications, including agriculture monitoring, disaster response, climate change tracking, urban planning, and financial services. By automating data processing and eliminating the need for stitching multiple images, KaleidEO’s technology enhances the accuracy and efficiency of Earth Observation analytics.

Dhruva Space is rapidly scaling its infrastructure with the construction of a 280,000 square-foot spacecraft manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) facility in Hyderabad’s TSIIC Hardware Park II, Shamshabad. This is India’s largest private satellite integration center, designed to handle spacecraft weighing up to 500 kg and support end-to-end satellite production and testing.

The facility’s phased development includes a 20,000 square-foot solar array assembly line and aims to position Dhruva Space as a hub for India’s emerging space technology ecosystem. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to meeting rising global demand for indigenous satellite platforms and space-enabled services across strategic and commercial domains.

The alliance between SatSure and Dhruva Space is set to revolutionize access to Earth Observation data by offering a fully managed, integrated EOaaS platform. This solution covers the entire spectrum — from satellite design, payload integration, and launch services to ground station operations, data processing, and delivery of industry-specific insights.

Key sectors expected to benefit include agriculture, forestry, utilities, energy, finance, disaster management, defense, and urban development. By providing reliable, sovereign, and cost-effective EO services, the partnership supports India’s ambition to strengthen its space economy and reduce dependence on foreign providers.

This strategic alliance between SatSure and Dhruva Space represents a significant milestone in India’s private space sector, promising to deliver faster, more affordable, and sovereign Earth Observation capabilities to a global audience. With combined strengths in payload innovation, satellite manufacturing, and data analytics, the partnership is poised to accelerate India’s leadership in space-based intelligence solutions.
